Shatta Wale’s Gringo wins Best African Music Video at 2019 Uganda Music Awards

The ‘self-acclaimed’ King of African Dancehall Shatta Wale known in real life as Charles Nii Armah Mensah has won the top award in Uganda ahead of 2019 Ghana Music Awards.

The controversial singer’s Gringo video won the Best African Music Video at the just ended Ugandan Music Excellence Awards.

The shatta movement boss beat music icons such as Sauti Sol, Patoranking, Yemi Alade, Flavour and Nasty C to win the coveted award.

Shatta Wale took to his Instgram to announced wining the aforementioned award.

The Gringo video was released by Zylofon Music on April 27, 2018, together with its music video.

The song was produced by Da Maker. In less than 48 hours after being released, the song reached number 4 on the US iTunes Top 100 reggae songs chart.
