Reports reaching Atinkanews.net has it that one of the pylons near the Head office of Ghana Grid Company (GRIDCo), which is transmitting power from Karpower and AKSA to the national grid, has collapsed.
The incident happened Monday dawn and officials of the Ghana Grid Company discovered it when they reported to work.

The report added that suspected thieves vandalised the tower and removed the bolts and nuts supporting it before using a hacksaw blade to cut the base of the tower, causing it to collapse on a second tower that is paired with it in a parallel line.
The situation saw parts of Dansoman, Kasoa, Swan Lake, and other parts of Accra being plunged into darkness.
According to the Director of Systems Operations, officials have isolated the power from the damaged lines so as to ensure distribution is not affected.
