VGMA Board ban Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale indefinitely, strips them off their awards

News reaching Atinkanews.net indicate that, The board and leadership of VGMA has banned Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale indefinitely and they have been stripped from all their awards won at #VGMA 20.

This means, Stonebwoy’s Reggae Dancehall Artiste of the year award has been stripped from him and Shatta Wale’s Highlife song of the year for My Level, Reggae/Dancehall song of the year for “Gringo.”

Stonebwoy and Shatta have consequently been ordered to immediately return to the organisers of the awards, Charterhouse Ghana Limited, the plagues they received for the two awards each of them won on the night.

Also, the two artistes have been banned indefinitely from participating in all aspects of the country’s foremost music award scheme.

According to the VGMA board, the decision was taken after “careful deliberations” and “extensive consultation” with stakeholders in the music industry.

Meanwhile, Shatta Wale just before the VGMA Board announcement revealed in a post on Instagram that he will no longer be part of the Ghana Music Award scheme going forward due to the recent happening this past weekend.
