Police officer ordered lady to do hand picking after throwing rubbish on the street

It looks like the war against sanitation problems is on course as new photos show how a lady was handed an instant punishment for littering around.

A lady according to reports threw an empty sachet water rubber on one of the principal streets of Accra.

A police officer saw her in the act and asked her to come out of her car and collect her rubbish with her bare hands and clean the surrounding.

Ministry Of Sanitation and Water Resources sharing the photos on Facebook wrote : “The clarion call by the Minister for Sanitation and Water Resources, Hon Cecilia Abena Dapaah on all to play a key role in the sanitation campaign to rid the nation of filth is on.

This morning the Personal security of the Hon. Minister politely requested a lady to pick rubbish she had dumped on the street “.

After the photos went viral, social media users are praising the police officer for enforcing the law.

Meanwhile, Atinkanews.net had also reported the story of Egyptian nationals who were forced to sweep entire Fosu lorry station for littering

The couple, who were travelling in a taxi, bought maize at the Assin Fosu lorry station and threw the remaining garbage onto the Assin Fosu railway bridge where clean-up exercise was ongoing at the time.

After the ordeal, Fatima Nah, the wife, cautioned Ghanaians against littering, considering the ordeal they’ve gone through.
