Forget Stone & Shatta; No artiste in Ghana does real reggae & dancehall – Kelvynboy

Ghanaian afrobeats musician Kelvynboy known in real life as Kelvyn Brown has claimed that Stonebwoy does not do pure reggae and dancehall.

According to the Mea hitmaker, Shatta Wale & Stonbwoy do what he would call Afro-dancehall and not the real hardcore dancehall we all know.

In an interview with Accra-based radio station Adom FM, Kelvynboy said “Shatta wale & Stonebwoy are doing Afro- dancehall and not the original dancehall.

He added that, “it can never be Dancehall if you are from here. There is no one going strictly by that. The moment you speak Twi, it is not Dancehall anymore rather Afro-Dancehall.

My boss Stonebwoy does not do reggae dancehall, he does Afro-dancehall. He is smart so he blended the two,” he stated.

If you are here in Ghana, you cannot do strictly reggae dancehall. It is a lie you cannot because it will not trend,” he added.

He further shaded Shatta Wale, saying “those who claim to be doing dancehall are the ones doing Afrobeats when Beyonce came.”
