DJ Arafat, an Ivorian singer with a huge following in francophone Africa, has died after a road accident in Abidjan.
Video footage and pictures circulating online suggest that Arafat hit a car while driving a motorbike.
Critically injured, the king” of coupé-décalé , 33, was taken to an Abidjan hospital, where he later died.
Following the incident, the mother and a lots of fans, families and friends of the deceased lead the group in baths of tears to the scene of the accident as they deposited Flower Wreaths at the place of the accident.

DJ Arafat had a huge career in music, releasing his debut album, Femmes, way back in 2000.
Following the success, he shared a further 10 albums, with fans enjoying his ‘Coupe-Decale’ (aka cut and run) style.
He was later named Artist Of The Year at the Coupe-Decale Awards in 2016 and 2017, and has been described as the ‘King’ of the genre.
