Xenophobia: God bless Nigeria – South African rapper AKA says after backlash

South African rap artist Kiernan Jarryd Forbes well-known as AKA has called for peace in the wake of threats on his life over his xenophobia comments.

The re-emergence of violent attacks mostly targeted at foreign nationals in South Africa has led to friction between some Nigerian celebs and their South African colleagues, particularly rapper AKA.

The multi award winning rapper became a subject of attack after a 2 month old tweet about South Africa’s loss to Nigerian in the African Cup of Nations resurfaced in the wake of talks about xenophobic attacks on Nigerians in South Africa.

The threats have not rested with him alone as his partner also continues to receive threats on social media.

Well, AKA has now taken steps to make amends on his comments regarding the xenophobia. In a new tweet, the rapper called for peace between Nigerians and South Africans.

According to him, South Africans and Nigerians need each other and things would only get worse if the hate does not stop.
