Anas’ latest exposé reveals corruption among AMA city guards (Video)

Investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas is set to release his latest investigate work on ‘corrupt’ city guards in the country.

The investigative piece is titled ‘Aba-yee’ to wit “They are coming or the city guards are coming”.

The team, posing as drivers and traders, for six months, monitored the activities of the guards from the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA).

The trailer of the yet to be released film shows how city guards who are supposed to ensure law and order abuse power and take bribes from the poor hawkers and drivers.

In the video, some city guards could be seen going about their routine work of destroying items belonging to some traders and money exchanging hands in some instance.

The promotional video also portrays helpless victims of the city guards, some shedding tears and pleading with the guards not to confiscate their goods.

For over 6 months, Anas Aremeyaw Anas and the Tiger Eye team worked as drivers and traders in Accra’s Central Business District.

They monitored the activities of city guards and many who were engaged in cases of abuse of power and the taking of bribes from some hawkers and drivers who didn’t have permits,” Anas posted on social media.
