The National Democratic Congress led by former president John Dramani Mahama who is seeking reelection has compiled a list of 51 government officials who are close to the ruling NPP government because of their family and friendship ties with the president of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo Addo.
According to the major opposition party, Gabby Asare Otchere Darko who is the nephew of the president is the de facto prime minister of Ghana. whiles the wife of Gabby Asare Otchere Darko serves on the board of GNPC.

Surprisingly, the list names the current Ghana Ambassador to the Czech Republic, Madam Virginia Hesse as the ex-lover and baby mama of Nana Akufo-Addo
In 2017 when Madam Virginia Hesse was named as Ghana Ambassador to the Czech Republic, the Harald newspaper carried a publication alleging Madam Virginia Hesse as the ex-lover and baby mama of the president.

Herald claimed in the publication that Nana Addo’s affair with Madam Virginia Hesse in the 1970s produced a daughter.
