No mascots can stop Burna Boy from performing in South Africa – Julius Malema

Julius Sello Malema, an opposition leader in South Africa, has tweeted to reassure Nigerian musician Burna Boy of his safety if he visits South Africa for the Africa Unite concert .

This after the artist was criticised for his inclusion in an anti-xenophobic concert, and South African artists insisted he must apologise for his previous comments about SA that allegedly incited hatred.

All this started after the xenophobic attacks in South Africa against foreigners led to the musicians sharing controversial tweets on social media.

Burna Boy vowed to never set foot in South Africa again, under no circumstance, and warned South African , AKA, to beef up security when he visits Nigeria and prepare for an ass-whooping.

A few months down the line, the self-acclaimed African Giant has gone back on his own words and is set to perform for the first time since the incident in South Africa.

AKA, however, did not let this slide. The rapper, also used the opportunity to demand an apology from Burna. According to him, he is ready to swallow his pride and Burna should do the same if truly he is an African giant.

At the height of the tension, Malema sent a tweet out to the star, claiming that “there’s no mascot that can stop him from performing.”

He tweeted:

Looking forward to receiving and being entertained by my brother @burnaboy here at his home called South Africa. There’s no mascot that can stop him from performing, he’s one of our own and we will protect him. We must resolutely oppose regionalism led by political illiterates.”
