Three arrested over killing of policeman in ADB bullion van attack

Three persons have been arrested after a police officer General Sergeant Emmanuel Chikodoh, was shot and killed while he was escorting a bullion van at Sefwi Asempanye in the Sefwi Wiawso area of the Western North Region.

The officer in the company of a driver and another staff of the bank were en route to receiving money when the two gunmen attacked the van at 290 near Asempanye in the Western North region.

The armed men opened fire killing the officer instantly with the driver and the other passenger escaping unharmed.

ACP Peter Alabi, the Divisional Police Commander for Sefwi Wiawso broke the news of the arrest on Adom FM‘s morning show ‘Dwaso Nsem’ Wednesday.

He said the arrested persons were currently in police custody, assisting with investigations into the murder.

ACP Peter Alabi said there was no money in the van at the time of the attack.
