American rapper Cardi B christens her daughter with a Yoruba name [video ]

International female rapper Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar, known professionally as Cardi B, is currently in Nigeria for the Livespot X Festival, which is set to take place on Saturday, December 7.

Cardi B sat with Cool FM‘s N6 and Taymi B for an interesting convo ahead of her first headline concert in Africa.

Cardi B, who is obviously very happy to be in Nigeria, spoke about music, her plans to visit Nigeria again, and giving her daughter, Kulture, a Yoruba name “Ayomide.” (Points to her for pronouncing it impeccably.)

The rapper also pointed out the crucial decisions her daughter made her make. Cardi B said:

She really has changed me. These things now, I gotta think twice. When I got my daughter, I can’t mess up because, I will mess up alot of things for her and I will go to jail. So I’m like, you know what, I gotta change for my kid.”

Cardi B would be heading to Ghana for the second leg of Livespot X Festival to take place on Sunday, December 8.

Meanwhile, Cardi B in a recent Instagram post, said she wants to have a taste of the Nigerian jollof rice

In another post, the top rapper gave herself a Nigerian name in honour of being in the country. The mother of one named herself Chioma B.

Nigerian singer David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, whose girlfriend and wife-to-be bears the name Chioma, immediately reacted to Cardi B’s new name.
