Wendy shay called out food and drugs authority after losing thousands of dollars deal

Ghanaian singer, Wendy Shay, wants Ghanaian celebrities to hold hands and fight the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) after she lost a deal worth thousands of dollars due to a ban by Ghana’s Food and Drugs Authority (FDA).

In 2015, the authority placed a ban on celebrities and influential personalities endorsing alcoholic beverages.

The FDA had explained earlier that the ban on celebrities advertising alcoholic beverages is an adherence to a World Health Organization (WHO) policy to protect minors.

But according to the Rufftown Records signee , she was unaware of the ban and had started a process of securing a deal with an foreign alcoholic beverage company.

Taking to Instagram to narrate her ordeal, Wendy Shay said she had just lost a huge sum of money because she couldn’t accept an advertisement deal which was worth thousands of dollars.

I just lost a deal worth 1,000s‘ of dollars with this foreign alcohol company… I didn’t know GH Celebrities can’t advertise for alcoholic beverages according to FDA. Like Seriously?! She wrote :
