SA rapper AKA react to Burna Boy’s Grammy Award loss

Popular South African rapper AKA, has reacted to Burna Boy’s loss at the Grammy’s last night to legend Angelique Kidjo.

It was with great joy that Nigerians received the news of Afro-fusion artiste, Burna Boy, being nominated for the award under the Best World Music Album category.

However, in a twist, Beninese and African legend Angelique Kidjo took the award home and it led to a series of mixed reactions on social media.

South African rapper, AKA, also took to social media via his Twitter page to react to Burna Boy’s loss of the Grammy Award.

According him, he have no hate for the African Giant and still considered him a winner as the nomination alone was a big deal.

He wrote: “I never hated Burna Boy. All I did was stand up for my country. I think it’s time to move past this narrative. It’s tired. Like I said, even a nomination is a huge achievement

He added: “What you should have done is focus on the positive instead of thinking about me and my country. In any case, Burna is still a champion. We still consider him a winner”.
