You’ve got 72 hrs! Retract defamatory statement or – Okyeame Kwame to Ambolley

Award-winning rapper Okyeame Kwame, through his lawyers, has given veteran singer Gyedu-Blay Ambolley a 72-hour ultimatum to withdraw the defamatory statement he made against him or face legal redress.

According to the letter posted on Okyeame Kwame’s Instagram page, Mr Ambolley made derogatory statements about Okyeame Kwame during a live Interview on TV3.

The veteran artiste alleged that former President of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), Obour, shared the GH¢2 million that was given to the union by government to his friends.

Ambolley mentioned Okyeame Kwame, Bessa Simons, Ben Brako and TiC as some of the beneficiaries of the cash.

The veteran artiste also alleged that each of them received about GHc 50,000 disguised as a loan.

When that cash came Obour gave them GHc 50,000 each…all these guys were guys who had surrounded him”, he claimed.

Okyeame Kwame and his lawyers insist the claim by Mr Ambolley is false and have since taken action by asking for a withdrawal of the statement through the medium in which he made them.

The suit states that Mr Ambolley has 72 hours to withdraw the statement or face legal action.
