Coronavirus in Nigeria: Italy-based Nigerian footballer contracts the disease

An Italian-Nigerian footballer, King Paul Akpan Udoh has reportedly contracted the Covid-19, also known as Coronavirus.

King Paul Udoh, 22, was reported to have been diagnosed with deadly corona-virus on Thursday, February 27, and he has been quarantined according to various reports.

Until he was said to have been confirmed a carrier of the disease, King Paul Akpan was playing in the Italian third division side with Pianese.

King Udoh who started his football career with Reggiana, moved to Juventus in 2011 where he was loaned back for a year.

Udoh later joined Virtus Lanciano, a Serie B side in 2016 on loan but returned to Juve after failing to express. Juventus shipped him to Lega Pro side Pontedera later the same year.

He had a loan stint with Pontedera, Fernana, Fano and Viareggio before joining Pianese on July 14, 2019.

Meanwhile, nothing has been heard from his club about the reported incident concerning King Udoh who is said to have been quarantined.

The Covid-19 virus has spread from China to countries in Europe, the Middle East and America.

The virus has also been discovered in Nigeria (Africa) with an Italian man reported to have brought it to Lagos according to the Federal Ministry of Health.
