Shatta Wale, sarkodie and all the artistes who have been on Tim Westwood’s freestyle sessions

Tim Westwood is a British DJ cum radio and TV presenter known and referred to by many as a legend in the music industry.

He has been referred to as one of the first DJs in Europe to play hip-hop on mainstream radio and is known or giving emerging acts around the world, opportunities on his shows to showcase their talent to the UK and the world.

Per tradition, anyone who comes on to Tim Westwood’s show has to drop a freestyle and for some reason, anyone who goes there KILLS their freestyle every time! The likes of J.Cole, Eminem, Kid Cudi and popular African acts such as Nasty C have all dropped heated freestyles on his show.

Ghanaian artistes did not disappoint too and after he posted a teaser of Quamina MP’s freestyle on his Twitter page, we just had to go back and look at the Ghanaians that have been on his show!

Manifest

Manifest’s freestyle has been referred to as the best freestyle to come from Ghana. The rapper laid down cool bars over the 70s soul, Ever So Lovingly by Tata Vega. He was natural, the wordplay was amazing…Manifest really did set the bar up high!

Sarkodie

Sarkodie’s Freestyle was on Tim Westwood’s show on BBC1xtra and let’s just say we were excited the second we realized he was given a Kanye beat cos we knew he wouldn’t let us down.

Y’all know Sarkodie’s delivery is always flaming hot and there was a reason his video was posted with “Hot” in the caption!

This was his first freestyle on the show and let’s just say this…We miss THIS Sarkodie! The Sarkodie that ate beats up like he was starving! The “obidi to my hunnies on the block” Sarkodie!

Sarkodie again!

2 years later, in 2013, Sarkodie went on Tim Westwood’s Crib Session and…let’s just say whew because… whew!

Medikal

Medikal ain’t slick. We noticed he dropped the bars from one of his old songs on this freestyle session on Capital Xtra with Tim Westwood but, that’s okay.

He delivered an impressive message on Africa and the West’s impression of the continent and everyone applauded him for it!

Kwesi Arthur

This freestyle came from Tim Westwood’s Crib sessions. Kwesi Arthur repped GH hard and dropped some real bars on his life, the state of Ghana, music and the hustle. Of course, he had to shadout his fellow artistes back in GH but, he did a great job although his first freestyle before the break in the video was much much better for us. We wanted more.

Strongman

Y’all know Strongman is a serious rapper and on Tim Westhood’s Crib Sessions, he did what he does best. He spoil there basaa and all in Twi. We know most foreigners wouldn’t understand what he said but you hear the flow and you just know he’s spitting fire!

Shatta Wale

Honestly, Shatta should have asked for a dancehall beat to freestyle over on Tim Westwood’s Crib Session. It is impressive that he actually freestyled instead of performing an old song but we have heard Shatta Wale do super crazy things and this, could have been better.

Stonebwoy and Yaa Pono

Stonebwoy really didn’t have to perform his Baafira song but he did and it wasn’t bad at all. Yaa Pono also did the most as usual on his verse and the two were clearly enjoying themselves. That’s all that matters right?

We are eager to see what Qumaina MP’s freestyle will sound like and we cannot wait to see more of our artistes show up with Tim Westwood!
