Doctors, nurses who came into contact with Obour’s late father test negative for coronavirus

After series of tests, nurses and doctors at the Greater Accra Regional Hospital known formerly as Ridge Hospital are negative for Covid-19 after being exposed to a patient.

These medical staff including seven nurses and three doctors were exposed when they came into contact with Obour’s late father, who tested positive for coronavirus before his demise.

This information was made known by management of the hospital on Tuesday, April 14, 2020, after the staff members were quarantined for two weeks.

“The above category of workers were quarantined because they had contact with the deceased when he was accidentally admitted and briefly managed at the emergency ward,” the hospital management wrote in the release.

Greater Accra Regional Hospital shut down its emergency ward after the father of the former president of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) passed away from the virus.

Also, a week ago, 33 other people, including family members of Nana Osei Kuffour, Obour’ father, also tested negative for coronavirus.

The test was conducted because the deceased was said go have had contact with them few days before passing away.

Meanwhile, Obour does not believe his father died of Covid-19.

The family has requested the hospital does an autopsy to disclose the actual cause of Nana Osei Kuffour’s death.
