Ghana president says one person infected 533 with coronavirus at fish factory.

It is out that one person succeeded in infecting 533 of his colleagues with coronavirus at a popular factory in Tema in the Greater Accra Region.

The President of Ghana, Nana Akufo – Addo in giving clarity to the rise in the number of infections said Ghana’s number of positive cases shot from 4012 to 4700 in the Ghana Health service update as of 11th May,2020.

Speaking in his ninth address to the nation, the President gave clarity to the figures that got most Ghanaians worried on Friday despite self confidences from a section of health experts that the country had peaked.

He noted that 533 was recorded from a fish processing factory in Tema.

The president said one worker infected all the 533 people have now tested positive for the virus.

“It is important to stress that five hundred and thirsty-three (533) out of the nine hundred and twenty-one (921) new cases recorded between last Wednesday and thursday are factory workers from a fish processing factory 2 located in Tema. All five hundred and thirty- three (533) person were infected by one (1) person”.

He added further that” Again, let me repeat that these new nine hundred and twenty one (921) cases were from backlogs dating as far back as 26th April, and not necessarity over a twenty four (24) hour window “.

Ghana’s cases count currently sites at 4, 700 with 22 patients dead and 5 persons in serious condition.
