President Akufo Addo visits Noguchi Memorial Institute for medical research against COVID-19

President Akufo Addo has paid a shocking visit to one of the institutions at the fore front of the country’s fight to kick out the novel coronavirus.

The Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research is noted to be the leading institution to have carried out most of Ghana’s COVID-19 test.

President Akufo Addo paid a surprise visit to the facility, hours before he addressed the country on the current measures taken by the government to mitigate the spread of the virus.

“His visit was to see the process of testing for COVID-19 and to interact with the staff who have been working tirelessly for 24 hours on a daily basis,” a Facebook post by Noguchi suggested.

“The president expressed satisfaction with the work going on and thanked the Institute and University for working hard to help meet the demand for COVID-19 testing in the country,” the Facebook post added.
