“It’s been a while since I heard a real dancehall song in Ghana” – Kelvyn Boy

Ghanaian Afro-pop musician, Kelvyn Brown, better known by his stage name Kelvyn Boy, says it’s been a while since he had heard a real Dancehall song from any artist in Ghana.

The musician was responding to a question on why it appears almost all current artiste in Ghana go by the same Beat Per Minute(BPM).

According to Kelvyn Boy, African artiste go by only one genre of music that is Afrobeat and is a fact, every artiste must accept it.

“Its been a long time, Its been a very long time I heard a real dancehall song in Ghana. Be true to yourself. When was the last time you heard a dancehall song in Ghana?” he queried in a rhetorical manner.

He stated that most of his colleague artiste are only doing afrobeat songs and labelling them as dancehall and that will gradually send Ghana music into a destruction.

He further mentioned that all artiste in Africa sound the same giving the signal that they do the same music genre and that is afrobeat.
