It all began after their mother rebuked and scolded Victoria for leaving their place of abode to live with men. This became a hot argument between both women and in the process, Victoria angrily slapped her mother. This action by his sister actually made Chima very angry at his sister and he allegedly grabbed a keg filled with petrol and hit her sister with it. The petrol however splashed out with most of it touching Victoria, which ignited fire leaving her with severe burns.

Victoria was instantly taken to the nearby hospital on Kemberi road, Okokomaiko but the doctors available there refused her. She was then referred to the Alimosho General Hospital, Igando where she was confirmed dead by the doctors upon arrival.

Chima however attempted fleeing after the incidence seeing the harm caused to his sister but was prevented by the youths in the community who later handed him over to the police for the law to deal with him appropriately.
