Two MPs, 13 parliamentary staff have tested positive for COVID-19 – Muntaka Mubarak

Minority Chief Whip Mubarak Mohammed Muntaka has made it it clear that two members of parliament and 13 Parliamentary staff have tested positive of the dreadful coronavirus.

According to him, the infected persons were unaware until the Speaker of Parliament directed compulsory testing of all members and staff of the House last week.

Speaking to Daniel Dadzie, the Chief Whip revealed that the two infected MPs and 13 staff have been isolated while contact tracing has started without any delay.

Earlier on,Kate Addo who is the Director of Public Affairs, said reports of confirmed infections were false adding that results of Covid-19 tests conducted on the personnel have not been received yet.

But Mr Muntaka described her assessment as untrue adding that it has the potential of causing fear and panic in the House and to the general public as a whole.
