Coronavirus: Ghana’s borders still remains under closure

President of the republic of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo has once again announced the extension of the closure of the country’s international borders.

But even though the borders are still under closure, a special exemption is going to be given to Ghanaians locked up abroad as a result of the closure of the borders.

Giving his 10th address to the nation on Sunday 31 May, 2020, President Akufo-Addo noted that the Ghanaian citizens that are stranded abroad due to the closure of the country’s international borders will be subjected to mandatory quarantine and safety protocols when they arrive in the country compulsorily and by force.

“our border by air, land and sea are closed until further notice for human traffic. However, given that there are Ghanaian residents stranded abroad, special dispensation is going to be given them for their evacuation back to Ghana, where they will be subjected to mandatory quarantine and safety protocols”. He noted
