“Ghana would not try this if we had a president”- Former aviation Minister, FFK laments

It would be remembered that, over the weekend the Nigeria High Commission in Ghana had been attacked by some armed men, devasting some buildings which were under construction.

Femi Fani-Kayode better known as FFK, former minister of aviation in reaction to the news indicated that, the recent attacks on the High Commission in Ghana would not have taken place if Nigeria had a president.

FFK further mentioned that it could never happen if Olusegun Obasanjo or Sani Abacha were the incumbent president.

Mr Fani-Kayoden’s reaction on the demolition of the High Commission in Ghana and threats on its staff was made known via his tweeter handle.

“Nigerian traders in Ghana have had their shops forcefully shut for the last 8 months,”

“Now our Embassy in Accra has been demolished & embassy staff threatened with violence. I assure you that Ghana would not try this if Nigeria had a President or if OBJ or Abacha were in power.” He noted.

The information we have gathered suggests that the demolition was carried out by a Ghanaian businessman who said that the commission was encroaching on his land.

Meanwhile, Ghanaian authorities have apologised for the unfortunate incident and assured that the issue would be resolved.

The attack on the commission comes as the latest in a series of unfriendly actions towards Nigerians citizens in Ghana.
