Comedy in Ghana is picking up – Clemento Suarez talks about life, career on McBrown’s Kitchen [Watch]

Fast-rising Ghanaian comic actor Clement Ashiteye famed Clemento Suarez, has said, he believes comedy in Ghana is gradually getting the attention and recognition it deserves.

Clemento, a graduate of the University of Ghana, shared this opinion when he appeared on McBrown’s kitchen – a cooking show with versatile actress, Nana Ama McBrown.

The pair with their affable and high sense of humour personality brought it all to play as they interacted with each other on the show which has seen Clemento talking about his life and career.

Clemento revealed, he schooled in Kumasi until relocating to Tema to attend Temasco for his High School education.

According to him , his job as an entertainer is a side gig, because he has a regular job at the British Council, here in Accra.

Talking about Ghanaian comedy scene, he said: “ Ghanaian comedy is picking up, especially with the Stand-Up side, Ghanaians are beginning to accept them and they actually doing well”.

Clemento Suarez added that the likes of OB Ampongsah, DKB, Lexix, Warris are some of the few names putting Ghana on the map and they need more support.

Talking about stage plays, he said: “when the COVID-19 goes, come to the National Theatre to support us too”.
