‘If you prayed for my downfall, you should get a refund’ – Mzbel speaks after her arrest

Singer Mzbel has spoken following news of her arrest and release by the police on Monday, August 24, 2020.

The Ghanaian artist was said to have been apprehended by the Greater Accra Regional Police Command.

Media personality Stacy Amoateng is said to have reported the musician to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service for defamation of character.

Police Public Relations Officer of CID, DSP Juliana Obeng confirmed this to Adom News on Monday.

“Mzbel came to the CID headquarters on her own but she was officially arrested” Juliana Obeng said.

She added that the musician has been cautioned on Section 208 of the Criminal Code which clearly speaks against that publication of false news.

Some weeks ago, Mzbel is reported to have alleged that Stacy Amoateng is HIV positive.

Mzbel said she got the information from popular preacher Prophet Nigel Gaisie.

She took to her social media pages after she was released to send a message to her haters.

“If u prayed for my downfall, u should get a refund back lol, Well feel free to use me to trend some wai lol good night Mzbelievers”, she wrote.

Mzbel is expected to report to the Police CID today, Tuesday, August 25.
