These Nollywood icons and celebrities notwithstanding their passion for the movie industry still went ahead to embrace a pastoral calling to minister the word unto the people of God. These are 5 Nollywood actors and actresses who have now became pastors.
1. Patience Ozokwor (AKA Mama G)
Patience Ozokwor commonly called Mama G is a renowned Nollywood icon and actress popular for the character she plays in Nigerian movies as “wicked step-mother” or “wicked mother-in-law”. She has been on the Nollywood screen for a long time (over a decade or two).
It is still not somewhat glaring yet if she has left the screen career for full-time evangelism or if she is shuttling between both worlds but she has been seen ministering severally in Lagos and other southern states.
2. Zack Orji
Zack Orji who is one of the most flexible and prolific Nollywood onscreen actors for over a decade now is popular for his character in Nigerian movies as a pastor. Zack’s decision to toe the line of pastoral involvement didn’t come as a surprise because of the roles he played on screen. Zack Orji got ordained into the evangelistic ministry in 2012 and now a full-time evangelist.
3. Kanayo O Kanayo
Kanayo O Kanayo the veteran actor and icon is popular for his role in movies for his money ritual acts which most times involved his family.
The great actor first featured in a 1992 blockbuster movie titled “living in bondage” and since then found a footing in the Nollywood film industry. However, there was a turn of events as the veteran actor has been found severally sharing the word of God with congregations.
4. Eucharia Anunobi
Anunobi Eucharia is a renowned Nigerian movie goddess popular for her character in “glamor girls” which was produced and aired in 1995 and “Abuja Connection” which was produced and aired in 2005, she was then seen and admired for her relentless efforts in movies with provocative and pretty characters.
On the 5th of February of 2012, Eucharia was ordained as an evangelist after dropping a shocker before then that she had given her life to Christ. She had since followed that line as she shares the gospel.
5.Charles Okafor
Charles Okafor who is a guru at what he did in the movie industry have left viewers wondering where he was as he hadn’t been seen on screen for a while now.
Okafor Charles who has joined other actors in the soul-winning business is now an ordained pastor teaching letting out the word of God. We sure miss them on the big screens.
