In his latest song, Sarkodie praising God for his life and chipped in some issues he had with the National Democratic Congress (NDC) who criticised him for releasing songs to take a swipe at John Mahama’s government.
Mentioning the Dumsor and Inflation songs he did at the time, Sarkodie did a fast-forward to Akufo-Addo’s time and pointed to the stable electricity and Free Senior High School.
He then proceeded to urge Akufo-Addo to continue to govern saying ‘Nana Toaso’ which literally translates as ‘continue, Nana.’
He rapped : ” if I have spoken about Dumsor and also complained about inflation, and today I have light because there’s no dumsor and my children can go to school for free, then Nana continue”
At the end of the song, Sarkodie cleverly chips in the battle is still the Lord’s which has been a longtime slogan for AKufo-Addo and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) since he first contested the presidency in 2008.
This becomes the first the Ghanaian rapper is openly declaring support for the New Patriotic Party after years of speculations that he is a sympathizer of the party.
