Award Winning Raggae/ Dancehall artiste, Livingston Satekle popularly known as Stonebwoy has been reportedly held up in South Africa for failing to pay an amount of $150 dollars to do a Coronavirus test.
One of the initiatives by the Ghanaian government to reduce the spread of covid-19 is to test everyone who comes in and out of Ghana through the airport.
Each individual is mandated to pay an amount of $150 dollars for the test.
A lot of Ghanaians who use the airport alot were against the amount being charged because they felt the amount was too much for an ordinary covid-19 test which was less that 10 minutes.
Stonebwoy said he had scheduled to return within 24 hours after having the test. Therefore, he was surprised to hear from the airport officials that he needed to pay again $150 dollars for another test else he won’t be able to board his flight.
He said the officials explained to him that it was the Ghana government making that demand and so he needed to comply.
The musician took to Twitter to express how confused he was over the matter.
See his tweet below;
I Pay 600 Rands to do corona test in SA less than 24hrs to fly back to GH.. But authorities in SA insist I Provide POP which is $150 mandatory corona test fee required by the Ghana authorities without Which I’m Not Boarding under the same 24hrs.. I’m confused 🤷
