Former EC chairperson Charlotte Osei speaks after Jean Mensa declared Akufo-Addo winner of 2020 election

Charlotte Osei, Former Chairperson of the Electoral Commission of Ghana, has passed her comment after the recent election and Presidential declaration.

In an Instagram post, she shared a peaceful message saying and revealing how God loves and has blessed Ghana.

Nonetheless, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has been given the mandate to govern Ghana for the next four years from January 7, 2021 to January 6, 2025.

This follows the declaration by the Electoral Commission (EC) that he is the winner of the presidential election held on Monday, December 7, 2020.

Nana Akufo-Addo who contested the election on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) won with 6,730,413 votes which represents 51.295 percent of the total valid votes cast

His closest competitor, John Dramani Mahama from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) got 6,214,889 votes representing 47.366 per cent.

The total valid votes cast was 13, 434,574 representing 79 per cent of the total registered voters.

Meanwhile, the Minority Leader of Parliament, Haruna Iddrisu, has said the National Democratic Congress (NDC), will not accept the outcome of the 2020 Elections as declared by the EC.

He said overwhelming evidence available to the NDC makes it impossible for Akufo-Addo and the NPP to be declared the winner of the 2020 Elections.
