Shock and grief have hit Mount Kenya University after a student was stabbed to death on Monday night in love gone soar deal.
Police in Thika, Kiambu County, have launched a manhunt for the man suspected to have stabbed a 19-year-old Mt Kenya University student on Monday night.

Celestine Muthengei, a second-year student pursuing Community Development, was attacked by the alleged jilted boyfriend at around 8pm while in her hostel room.
According to police, the young scholar died while being attended to at Thika Level Five Hospital.
A police officer who sought anonymity as he is not allowed to speak to media said the student died as a result of breathing complications while being attended to at the facility.

“The student died while being attended to at a hospital where she had been rushed for first aid,” said the police source.
According to students near the hostel where she was brutally wounded, the girl had an affair with another man and whom she had slept with before her death.
“Someone must have tipped the boyfriend that the girl was having intercourse with another man. This occasioned fury which triggered the man to stab her mercilessly,” said a student.
