First Lady pays back all allowance received into consolidated bank account

First Lady Rebecca Akufo-Addo has finally paid back all allowances she had received between 2017 and 2021 into the national coffers.

Yesterday, the First Lady had issued a statement where she stated her intentions to return all allowances she had received as far as her current position is concerned.

A receipt has dropped from the Office of the First Lady where she has forwarded a cheque amount of GH¢899,097.84 to the office of the Chief of Staff.

Except the statement reads:

I am directed to forward, herewith, a Consolidated Ghana Bank Limited cheque number 000002for the amount of GH¢899,097.84 being the full refund of the monies received from 7th January to date as allowances given to Her Excellency, the First Lady of the Republic.
