Michael Simmons, the husband of Josephine Panyin Mensah, the pregnant woman who went missing in Takoradi, has spoken out after his wife was found in Axim in the Western Region.

The victim, Josephine Panyin Mensah, was said to have taken a morning walk from the Amanoo road to the Paa Grant Roundabout as part of her routine exercise on Thursday, September 16 and did not return.

A search party was convened after her mother received a call from an unknown person who said they could not use her for what they intended.

The suspects also said they had dumped her somewhere; a close relative told JoyNews.

She was later found at Axim in the Nzema East Municipality of the Western Region without her pregnancy.

But the Western Regional Minister, Mr Kwabena Okyere Darko-Mensah, who also doubles as the Chairman of the Western Regional Security Council, debunked the claims.

Mr Kwabena Okyere Darko-Mensah has disclosed that a preliminary observation by a doctor on her has shown that she was not pregnant.

“From their preliminary investigations, NIB suspects that this whole story was fake and that the medical doctor who has even looked at her revealed she wasn’t pregnant. That is the immediate information that we have. The police are still with her,” he said.

A video has popped up disputing claims by Western Regional Minister Kwabena Okyere Darko-Mensah that Josephine Panyin Mensah was not pregnant.

The video as sighted by Atinka News , shows the lady , with a huge baby bump on different occasions. One of the scenes had Josephine dressed in red attire and seated with many children behind a table.

Another scene which’s date stamp indicates August 9 shows Josephine with her husband and son at the Tokaradi Mall. She was still with a heavy bump.

Sharing the video during their primetime news on Wednesday, September 22, 2021, the Accra-based radio sation indicted that they had obtained the images from Jospehine’s husband.
