Popular South African Media personality Bonang Matheba has released an official statement after winning her defamation case against Podcast presenter, Rea Gopane.
In 2021, Bonang went against Rea Gopane after he spilled alleged false claims about her on his podcast.

However, Rea has been ordered to pay R300k ($19,238.99) for damages plus the legal costs of action.
Bonang made it clear that she had warned him twice to desist from such statement but he ignored making her to take legal actions.
The star said the judgment made to Rea will be a lesson to those who uses their social media to defame and humiliate others.

She further said that she will be donating the money to Bonang Matheba foundation.

Why Bonang Matheba sued Rea Gopane .
The vlogger landed in hot water with Queen B last year after he claimed in one of his episodes that Bonang introduced her ex-boyfriend, rapper AKA, to cocaine.
Bonang Matheba slammed the vlogger and served him with a 500K lawsuit, and he was instructed by her legal team to retract his statements and issue an apology on his social media platforms in the form of a video and a letter.
He apologised and issued the apology but never gave B her money. In the following interactions between the pair, Rea seemed unbothered about his debt and often took to Twitter to taunt Bonang.
After the loss on Thursday, Rea continued to act like the judgment was water off a duck’s back.
