Dancehall musician Shatta Wale, known in private life as Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jnr, has called on Ghanaians to respect Nigerians because they understood music talent.

Shatta Wale made this known in a tweet via his verified Twitter handle on Sunday which was preceded and followed by a series of tweets.

According to him, Nigerian artistes have been dominating streaming platforms because they understand what talent means.

The Ghanaian singer said Nigerians deserve respect for their hard work, adding that “lazy” Ghanaians should stop engaging in comparison.

“Please can we just respect Nigerians for their hard work and stop comparing our lazy lifestyle to theirs.. It’s shame people think Nigerians will come hard at me but see they are the ones doing the streaming because they understand what Talent means .. Ghana music is a shame,” he wrote.

In another tweet, Shatta Wale asked Nigerians not to weigh into his criticism of his country’s people.

“So, man can’t talk to some foolish Ghana fans in peace, Nigeria please I no come for una I beg. I am talking to Ghana foolish fans association. I will come to you when I have beef over there please… let me finish with these f**kers I beg,” he added.

The ‘My Level’ crooner has been in the news on several occasions over his scathing remarks about the Nigerian music industry.

In late December, Burna Boy had engaged Shatta Wale in a war of words after he dissed Nigerian artistes whom he said failed to reciprocate the support they got from Ghana.
