The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the governing NPP, Bernard Antwi Boasiako, famed as Chairman Wontumi, accidentally run into some supporters at the party’s delegates conference.
The polls for the election of the party’s Chairperson in the Ashanti Region took place at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi on Saturday, 28 May 2022.

When Chairman Wontumi arrived at the Baba Yara Stadium for the conference, he was greeted by cheerful supporters at the entrance.
He stopped the vehicle and came out of the open roof to respond to the cheering by the supporters.
When he sat back in the car, it accidentally moved forward and run into some supporters who were in front of the vehicle.

Wontumi re-elected NPP Ashanti Region Chairman
Meanwhile, Chairman Wontumi has been re-elected as the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
This gives him a third term opportunity to chair the NPP in the Ashanti Region, the strongest hold of the party.
