Police locate 14-year-old girl in suspected Grantsville kidnapping

Grantsville — A 14-year-old girl who police say was kidnapped Saturday night in Grantsville has been located, police said.

The girl, named Alexia Nicolee Linarez Jauregui, was found and returned to family Tuesday night, according to a Facebook post from the Grantsville City Police Department.

Earlier Tuesday, the Grantsville police said the case of then-missing 14-year-old Alexia Nicolee Linarez Jauregui was a kidnapping.

Graŋtsville Police Sgt. Jeff Watson stated that at the time the police believed she was in a car with two adult acquaintances who are not family members and that the abductors were planning on taking her out of the state or even the country.

Linarez Jauregui was reported missing from Grantsville on Sept. 10, wearing a black shirt with black jeans with rips in the front. She is approximately 4 feet, 5 inches tall with brown hair and eyes and a nose ring.

The Grantsville Police Department used her description and a missing poster in order to ask the community for help in locating her.

Watson stated that police do not yet know what kind of car the potential abductors were driving. Other details about Linarez Jauregui’s return have not yet been released.
