Two passengers who were taken into custody following a fight with an airline employee at the Miami International Airport on Tuesday have been identified as Makyan Mercer and Janaeah Negash.
Who are Makyan Mercer and Janaeah Negash?
Janaeah Negash and Makyan Mercer, after celebrating one of their birthdays on Sunday, arrived at the Miami International Airport 45 minutes late on Tuesday to board a flight to Atlanta. They were not allowed to board the flight following which the two got into an altercation with a Frontier Airlines employee at a ticket counter just after 9.30 am.

Things went out of hand when Mercer, 20, threw a plastic sign holder at an airline employee, causing the woman to suffer a cut on her face. Following this, officers took Mercer into custody.
Janaeah Negash, 21, then tried to interfere with the arrest. She got between the officers, screaming, “Don’t touch her!” She was also taken into custody.
The entire scene was caught on camera.
The women were transported to the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.
Mercer was charged with aggravated battery, resisting arrest with violence, and disorderly conduct.

Negash was charged with resisting arrest with violence, and disorderly conduct.
They have since been bonded out of jail.
In a statement on Wednesday, Frontier Airlines said, “Yesterday, at the Frontier ticket counter at Miami International Airport, two customers approached the counter to check in for their flight after the designated cut-off time for check-in. They became aggressive, with one of the customers physically assaulting a team member who subsequently required medical treatment.”
“We are providing our full support to the injured team member and are appalled by the conduct of the two customers who were ultimately arrested. Both will be permanently banned from flying with us in the future,” the statement added.
