Rapper AKA funeral and memorial service details: The Forbes family has released the funeral details of the late rap superstar, Kiernan Jarryd Forbes.

The family acknowledged the outpouring love they have received so far from friends, family and supporters of the Fela In Versace hitmaker.

How did AKA die?

AKA was gunned down on Friday, February 10 in Durban after a night out with friends. He met up with a long time friend and former manager Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane, who also unfortunately lost his life that same night. Together, they made moves and opened doors for a lot of artists in the industry who are now left shattered over this gruesome incident.

Taking to his Instagram page, The Forbes family thanked the public for their love and support as they prepare to give AKA a proper send off.

“We as the Forbes family would like to acknowledge the outpouring of love we have received over the past few days. Kiernan wasn’t just loved by us as a family but by the nation,” they wrote in part.

They continued by saying they would like to celebrate his life with everyone who loved him, “…his memorial will therefore be open to the public as well as streamed online.”

AKA Funeral and Memorial service

The funeral details are as follows: “Kiernan will be laid to rest in a private provincial funeral on Saturday, 18 February 2023.”

His memorial service will take place on Friday, 17 February at the Sandton Convention Centre at 3PM. Those who wish to attend can do so by purchasing tickets at Web tickets however they will be limited.
