Multiple people have been injured in a horrific shooting outside a restaurant owned by rapper Yo Gotti’s mum, with reports claiming at least two person has died.
Police have confirmed that the shooting occurred in the parking lot at Privé in Hickory Hill late on Wednesday night.
People at the scene are reporting that at least five more people were injured during the incident.
One of the victims is thought to be a Black adult male with a number of gunshot wounds.
The Memphis Police Department has released information about the incident.
The statement read: “On March 29, 2023, at 11:17 pm, officers responded to a shooting outside of 6980 Winchester.
“Two male victims were located, one was pronounced deceased on the scene and one was transported to ROH critical where he was later pronounced deceased.
“Five additional victims, four males and a female, arrived at area hospitals by POVs.
“Prelim information indicates that the shooting stemmed from an altercation that started inside the club.”
“Huge police presence at Prive, a restaurant owned by @YoGotti’s mom,” tweeted reporter Walter Murphy of local NBC News affiliate WMC-TV from the scene.
“One person dead in the parking lot right now – people here say 5 more were shot.”
A number of areas at the scene were taped off as the investigation was in progress.
Prive restaurant is owned by Geraldine Sims, the mother of rapper Yo Gotti, whose real name is Mario Sentell Giden Mims.
