A yet-to-be identified man on Sunday, April 9, suffered harassment from a police officer along the East-West road.
According to the victim, he was headed to church in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, when he was accosted by the overzealous bribe-seeking officers.

In the viral video, the gun-totting police officer is seen using a cane to flog the man.
“Why are you flogging me? Did I steal?” the man asks the officer in pidgin English.
The man then collects the cane from the officer who then proceeds to slap him twice on the face and orders him to walk to his car.

A second officer is seen rough handling the man’s female companion.
The video has sparked outrage online, with many people calling for the officer to be held accountable for his actions.
Viewers have expressed outrage after watching the video and are questioning why police brutality has not abated.
