Reports coming in from Adum, Kumasi, state that the life of a young lady, identified as Victoria Dapaa, popularly known as Maa Adwoa, has been cut short by her boyfriend, who shot her five times.

According to Kessben TV’s Facebook handle, where the news was broken, the bloody incident happened at Adum in Kumasi at the forecourt of Dufie Towers.

According to Graphic Online, after shooting the lady, the gunman jumped into a rickshaw [a light two-wheeled passenger vehicle – commonly referred to as Pragya in Ghana] and fled.

The victim was rushed to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital where doctors pronounced her dead on arrival.

“After the first two shots, she was pleading with the guy to stop and he added three more shots before jumping into a rickshaw [a light two-wheeled passenger vehicle] to run away.

“Because he was holding a gun, we could not attempt to arrest him,” Graphic Online quotes eyewitnesses as saying.

Auxiliary reports have also stated more details, indicating that Maa Adwoa’s boyfriend suspected her of cheating, but she denied it and decided to break up with the gentleman.

It was at that point the man got furious and took matters into his own hands.

The development has spread a wave of sadness on social media, with many Ghanaians pouring out their hearts over how the incident is making them feel.

Some also used the occasion to advise others to be careful about the people they choose to date.
