A Queens woman accused of ramming her BMW into a group of 50 Black Lives Matter demonstrators in Manhattan’s midtown was merely given a desk appearance citation by NYPD officers, and she was freed hours later.

Kathleen Casillo sped up her BMW sedan into the crowd gathered at East 39th Street and Third Avenue on Friday afternoon, causing six non-life-threatening injuries.

Casillo, 52, was stopped nearby and taken into custody by Police, but he was released shortly after receiving a ticket, according to the New York Post.

The breathtaking video shows the automobile halted at 39th Street and Third Avenue shortly after 4 p.m. with demonstrators in front of it, immediately before the female driver slams on the brakes.

One of the protesters is seen rolling over the vehicle’s hood, crashing into the windshield, and falling to the ground.

According to authorities, Casillo reported that protestors surrounded her car and began beating on it as they marched illegally against traffic. She told Police that she then stepped on the gas to escape from them.

Woman Charged After Striking Pedestrians

Police have filed charges against the vehicle that struck a crowd of protestors in Manhattan late on Friday afternoon. Queens resident Kathleen Casillo, 52, is accused of reckless endangerment.

Just after 4 o’clock in the afternoon, the incident occurred at the intersection of 3rd Avenue and East 39th Street during a Murray Hill rally in favor of immigrants.

At the time of the incident, 40 and 50 demonstrators were present. The woman’s automobile can be seen ramping up speed and barreling through a crossing in a video.

The vehicle involved sustained substantial damage, and seven persons were hurt. Although some of them were taken to the hospital, their injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

Casillo received a desk appearance ticket and has until February 22 to appear in court.

According to police, a 32-year-old demonstrator who interfered with EMS as they arrived on the scene has been charged with disorderly conduct and obstructing governmental administration.
