The freak incident was streamed live on Facebook and the video remained on the platform for several hours. Thousands of people watched the graphic video.
The incident took place on April 22 or 23 in 2017. Two of Serena’s classmates called her in a private space and they started beating her combinedly. The brutal assault resulted in several wounds that took the life of the young girl.
A classmate of Serena McKay saw the live stream and informed the principal of their school, Claude Guimond, who then reported the incident to the Police and Facebook. The video was then taken down from the platform and an investigation was launched.

The video shows Serena McKay getting beaten in a very brutal way. At least two females were present there and they were hitting Serena with boots and sticks. One of the also tried crushing Serena’s head with her boot as the sound of bones cracking could be heard.
“If you send anyone after me I will k!ll you. I will f–king k!ll you myself,” one female said to the victim. A lot of other swearing words were also heard in the clip with other sounds of impact. The victim was beaten mercilessly.
Upon getting hit, Serena was seen apologizing to the culprits. “I’m so sorry,” she said while crying. However, the context is not known for the apology.
Who Killed Serena McKay?
Serena McKay, 19, was killed by two of her classmates. One was aged 16 and the other was 17 at the time of the incident. As they were minors, their names were not made public. All three of them belonged to the Sagkeeng Anicinabe High School.
They also lived in the same neighborhood in Manitoba, Canada. The body of Serena McKay was found at night near a home in Sagkeeng. It’s 100 kilometers northeast of Winnipeg. Before this, Serena was reported missing by her parents.
Once the culprits were caught, charges of second-degree murder were filed against them. The specific motive behind the girls killing their classmates was not made public. Our deepest condolences go to the family of Serena McKay.
