In 1957, Turner began her musical career when she joined her ex-husband, Ike Turner’s group King of Rhythm.

Following her debut under her new name, Tina and Ike released hit after hit including her famous songs, River Deep – Mountain High, and Proud Mary.

During the 60s and 70s, Tina was sadly in a toxic relationship with Ike.

By 1978, the singer divorced Ike and a few years later, in the 80s, started her successful career as a solo artist.

Turner was named the Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll due to her unique vocals and eccentric stage presence.

Throughout her solo career, Turner received eight Grammy Awards.

In 1991, Turner was inducted into the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame alongside Ike, and later in 2021, the artist was inducted independently.
