Ghanaian Highlife artist Dada Halfco has labelled Amakye Dede’s crowning Kuami Eugene at Vodafone Ghana Music Award 2019 as an act of disrespect to the genre.
It would be recalled that Amakye Dede at the middle of his performance at a VGMA 2019 invited Kwame Eugene to the stage and crowned him the kind of Highlife.

Meanwhile,music loving fans had a divergent views with regards to the incident with some saying that, Kwame Eugene really merit the kingship bestowed on him while other section also hold the view that the artiste has a monumental task to accomplish and therefore does not deserve the title at least for the time being.
Dada Hafco is the latest to add his voice to the induction event.
In an interview on Ahotor FM monitored by Atinkanews.net the musician indicated that the decision by veteran Amakye Dede is an insult to they the old ones in the industry before the emanation of Kuame Eugene.

“Kuame Eugene is a fine talent but crowing him as the highlife king is an insult to the oldies in the game, how long has he been doing highlife to be crowned king of highlife, he is good but it is not time yet”, he told the host of the show.
