GES breaks silence over the death final year student of Gwiraman SHS

Hours ago, we reported the death of a final year student of Gwiraman Senior High school, identified as Nathaniel Yankey who died after short illness.

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has come out with a statement stating what actually happened prior to the death of the student.

As stated by the reports, his situation got worsened after authorities of the school refused to grant him permission to go home for a better medical attention.

Mena Adjoa Essoun, the mother of the deceased attributed the death of her son Nathaniel Yankey to the school authorities.

However, in a statement issued by Ghana Education Service (GES), the student did not pass away on campus as earlier reported

The deceased, Nathaniel Yankey’s untimely death happened on Wednesday, July 15, 2020, after he was rushed to Hospital.

The statement indicated the deceased was living in a hostel owned by a private individual.

When his illness got worse, he went home on Friday July 10, 2020.

Meanwhile, when management of Gwiraman SHS called to check on him, they were told he had died in the morning, the statement said
