He has four older siblings, and a younger half-sister from his mother’s remarriage. After his parents divorced when he was eight years old, Jackman remained in Australia with his father and two brothers, while his mother moved back to England with his two sisters.
He attended the all-boys Knox Grammar School, in Sydney’s Upper North Shore. After graduation he spent a gap year in England, before returning to Australia to study at the University of Technology, Sydney. He graduated from university in 1991 with a BA in Communications.
