Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil has won the hearts of many this week after he sent signed shirts and boots to a young Herdsman who was spotted wearing a homemade kit with ‘Ozil 10’ on the back.
The boy, who goes by the name Lawrence, went viral when journalist Eric Njiru posted a picture of him on Twitter while he was herding cows.
“I saw this kid today grazing in the streets of Nairobi – a city without really grass for cows.” he posted.
“He told me he loves @MesutOzil1088 so much(You can see his shirt). Maybe one day this can reach Ozil and get a real @Arsenal shirt.”
The Arsenal superstar took to his Instagram page to respond to the message by the Kenyan journalist after his post went viral.
” The picture of a Kenyan boy with a self-made shirt on Twitter touched me so much. And look at Lawrence now – it’s so heartwarming to see him and his brothers happy #CheckOutMyInstaStory #SocialMediaPower #HappyToAssist #Nairobi #M1Ö”.
